Half Day Sightseeing:

Swoyambhu :
Buddhist Chaityas. It is said to be 2000 years old. The Chaitya which forms the main structure is made of a solid hemisphere of brick and clay supporting a lofty conical spire capped by a pinnacle of copper, gilt. Painted on the four sides of the spire bases are the never sleeping eyes of Lord Buddha. It is three kilometers west form Kathmandu city, and is situated on a hillock about 77m. Above the level of the Valley. The hill is a mosaic of small Chaityas and pagoda temple.

Kathmandu Durbar Square :
It is the historic seat of Royalty. The Durbar Square, with its old Temple epitomizes the religious and cultural life of the people. It is here that Kings of Nepal are crowned and their coronations solemnized. The major sightseeing places in Kathmandu Durbar Square includes:

  • Taleju Temple
  • Kasthamandap
  • Temple of Kumari

After Sightseeing Free Time for Shopping at Thamel

In the early days, Thamel was nothing much but thick forests, few horses, and uneven pathways located at the edge of the capital Katmandu, the in habitats rarely saw foreign visitors. It was only when tourists began to arrive in Nepal in the 1970s, did the area experience a gradual change. Forest were cut down, new houses were built on farmlands, and roads were constructed. Slowly, local people started to open up various enterprises that catered to the needs of tourist. One by one, shops selling trekking gear, souvenirs, and fashionable clothing opened up and in no time at all, the once "sleepy" town turned into a comercial center packed with people, shops, and hotels.

Transfer to Chitwan National Park by Coach

Chitwan:
It is located in south-central Nepal, the royal Chitwan National Park consists of forests and grasslands. Animals include the rhino, tiger, wild elephant, antelope and hyena. Crocodiles, dolphins, cobras, kraits and pythons are also found here. There are 525 species of birds. Bharatpur the gateway of Chitwan is 146km from Katmandu.

Elephant Ride:
Elephant ride with full security guaranteed, guests are taken in the morning and evening hours on elephant backs through the park for watching the wild, ferocious as well as the gentle animals in their natural habitat. One horned rhino, different species of deer’s, tigers and leopards are just a few of them. Of course the guest has to be lucky to catch a casual glimpse of the latter two animals. The trip takes about one hour and a half.

Lumbini :
Is situated in the central lowland Trai of the south - western Nepal. This sacred place is the birth place of lord Siddartha Goutam Buddha who was born in 623 BC. Lumbini as a whole is a peaceful beautiful garden which contains monasteries shrines and a 3rd century BC. stone pillar commemorating the birth of Buddha. The Ashokan pillar erected by great Indian emperor Ashokan is the first epigraphic evidence relating to life history of lard Buddha.

Bhaktapur Durbar Square :
Bhaktapur is situated at an altitude of 1401m, is a home of medieval art and architecture. The urban city covers an area of 4square miles. Shaped like a conch-shell Bhaktapur means the city of devotees. Pottery and weaving are its traditional industries. The city lies about 14 km east from Katmandu. The major sightseeing places in Bhaktapur Durbar Square includes:

Transfer to Nagarkot.

Nagarkot is a popular view mountain of Nepal. It is situated 32km east of Kathmandu at an altitude of 2175m above the sea level. The Panorama of the major peaks of eastern Nepal Himalayas including Sagarmatha(Mt.Everest),can be seen from here. The Himalaya peaks like Manaslu (8463m),Ganesh himal (7111m), Langtang (7246m), Choba Bhamre(6016m), Gaurishanker(7134m).

Transfer to Kathmandu

Patan :
The ancient city of Patan is situated on the southern bank of the river Bagmati and is about 5km. Southeast of Kathmandu. The city is full of Hindu temples and Buddhist monuments with bronze gateway, guardian deities and wonderful carvings. Noted for its craftsmen and metal workers, it is known as the city of artists.
The major sightseeing places in Patan Durbar Square includes:

  • Kumbheshwor (Hindu temple)
  • Golden Temple

Pashupati :
A Hindu temple dedicated to lord Shiva is one of the most sacred Hindu shrines in the world. It lies 5km east from the city on the bank of Bagmati river. Entrance of Pashupatinath precinct is permitted to the Hindus only. However visitors can clearly see the temple and the activities performed in the temple premises from the eastern bank of the Bagmati River. The temple is believed to be built before 400AD.

Bouddha:
It is one of the biggest Stupa in the world which is built by Lichchhavi king Mana Dev in the 5th century A.D. it is situated 8kn east of Kathmandu. The colossal and ancient Stupa of Boudha is 36 m high also a world heritage site. It is also known as Khasti or dew drops as it is said that the builders had to use dewdrops to mix the mortar because Kathmandu was suffering from a severe drought during its construction.

Transfer to Kathmandu Tribhuvan International airport for departure to Bangkok.
